Standing Orders

Standing Orders in Force in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. Standing orders are those orders issued by the court which have force and effect beyond a single case or incident, and therefore govern future action before the court.

Standing orders are issued by a judge or judges of this court and are filed with the clerk of court who shall incorporate them into this Web Site. For purposes of clarity, standing orders are divided into three categories:

  1. Standing Orders which apply district-wide;
  2. Standing Orders which apply to a particular division of the court; and
  3. Standing Orders which apply to a particular judge of the court.
