Newly Admitted Attorney Swearing In Ceremony
and Seminar Announcement

The Lafayette/Acadiana Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is rescheduling the Newly Admitted Attorney Swearing In Ceremony to take place during the Judge John Shaw and Judge Eugene Davis Civility & Ethics Seminar being held on December 4, 2025, at the John M. Shaw United States Courthouse in Lafayette.  The Honorable David C. Joeph and the Honorable James D. Cain, Jr. will preside over the Swearing In Ceremony.

The Seminar will be held in Courtroom No. 1 on the 4th Floor of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana located at 800 Lafayette Street, Lafayette, LA  70501.  The Seminar will commence at 12:30 p.m. and will end at 4:00 p.m. with a reception catered by iMonelli to take place after the Seminar. 

Presenters at the Seminar are Anderson “Andy” Dotson, III, Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel for the State of Louisiana, the Honorable David C. Joseph and the Honorable James D. Cain, Jr. with the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and the Honorable Jane Triche Milazzo with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.  This three (3) hour CLE program includes one (1) hour of professionalism and one (1) hour of ethics, and the program is approved for Louisiana and Texas.

Newly admitted attorneys being sworn in do does not have to pay the registration fee for the seminar, and are encouraged to register.
