Ex-parte motions are referred to chambers as soon as possible. For contested motions, Magistrate Judge Whitehurst maintains a motion date and usually has oral argument. The clerk will issue a notice of motion setting advising when the motion will be heard. Click on the courtesy copy tab for specific information on copy requirements.
Magistrate Judge Whitehurst requires courtesy copies of contested motions, supporting memorandum, responses, and attachments. Copies should be emailed to whitehurst_orders@lawd.uscourts.gov. If attachments are 15 pages or less, they may be e-mailed. If attachment exceed 15 pages, paper copies shall be delivered to the address above.
