Ex-parte motions are referred to chambers as soon as possible. For contested motions, Judge Doughty does not maintain a regular motion date, but may order oral argument. The clerk will issue a notice of setting advising when the motion will be considered. Click on the courtesy copy tab for specific information on copy requirements.
Judge Doughty requires courtesy copies of contested motions, supporting memorandum, and responses. Copies in Word should be e-mailed to chambers at: doughty_motions@lawd.uscourts.gov. If attachments to the motion exceed 50 pages, copies should be manually delivered to chambers at the address above. Copies of ex-parte motions are not necessary.
