| The Lafayette/Acadiana Chapter of the Federal Bar Association will host a New Attorney Swearing in Ceremony and State of the Western District CLE Presentation on November 5, 2025. Honorable David C. Joseph will preside over the Ceremony which will be conducted in Courtroom 1 in the John M. Shaw United States Courthouse located at 800 Lafayette Street, Lafayette, LA 70501. The Ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. Newly admitted attorneys will be sworn in for admission to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. After the Ceremony, the Federal Judiciary will conduct a one (1) hour CLE Presentation to address the State of the Western District which will include District Court developments, District Court status and important information and statistics. A reception will follow the CLE Presentation. Newly admitted attorneys are encouraged to attend. The Ceremony and CLE Presentation are open to all attorneys at no charge.
